Hi, I’m Bernhard 👋

📍 Graz, Austria

🔨 Builder · Linux & Open Source Enthusiast · Entrepreneur

I work at the intersection of technology, product development, and organizations. With more than 30 years of experience in computer science and software engineering, I help individuals and teams navigate technology decisions — from early exploration and strategy to hands-on implementation.

My background spans systems programming, machine learning, visualization, developer tooling, and product engineering. I enjoy building software that is simple, practical, and durable.

I’m deeply rooted in the Linux and open source world and spend a probably unreasonable amount of time refining workflows, tooling, and development environments. I care a lot about simplicity, clarity, and leverage — good tools should disappear into the background and let people think.

I like exploring ideas, experimenting with technologies, and understanding how systems work underneath the surface. A lot of my work happens in terminals, editors, scripts, and prototypes. Neovim is home.

Technologies I frequently work with include:

C++ · Go · Python · Lua · Linux · CLI · macOS

Outside of client and product work, I write, speak, and teach about technology, responsibility, and the impact software has on people and organizations.

I love building simple but useful things.
